Cancellation and refund policy

Last updated: 01/10/2026

At Cine Ring, we aim to make your movie-booking experience simple and transparent. This policy explains when a booking can be cancelled, how refunds are processed and what happens when a show is cancelled or changed. It applies to movie ticket bookings made through the Cine Ring website, mobile application or other authorized Cine Ring booking channels.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation availability depends on the cinema, movie, showtime and booking terms applicable to your ticket. Where cancellation is permitted, the cancellation deadline and refund conditions will be displayed during the booking process or in your booking confirmation. Please review the cancellation terms before completing payment.

Cancellation before the show

If a booking is eligible for cancellation, you may request cancellation through the Cine Ring booking interface or customer support before the applicable deadline. The refund amount may be subject to applicable:

  • Cancellation charges
  • Convenience or platform fees
  • Payment processing charges
  • Other applicable non-refundable charges

The exact refund amount, where applicable, will be shown during the cancellation process.

Cancellation after the deadline

Bookings cancelled after the applicable deadline may not be eligible for a refund. Tickets may also not be refundable after the show has started or after you have been marked as admitted, except where required by applicable law or specifically approved by the cinema or Cine Ring.

Non-refundable bookings

Certain tickets, promotional bookings, special screenings, events or discounted offers may be non-refundable or non-cancellable. Where applicable, this will be communicated before the booking is completed.

Cinema-initiated show cancellation

If a cinema cancels a show after you have successfully purchased a ticket, Cine Ring or the cinema may communicate the available resolution. Depending on the circumstances, you may be offered:

  • A refund of the eligible booking amount;
  • An alternative show or rescheduling option; or
  • Another resolution offered by the cinema.

Where a refund is approved, it will generally be processed to the original payment method, subject to payment-provider processing timelines.

Change in show timing

If the cinema changes the showtime, screen or other material details after booking, Cine Ring or the cinema may notify you using the contact information on the booking. Where applicable, you may be offered an alternative arrangement or refund in line with the cinema’s policy.

Payment failure

Sometimes a payment may appear to have been deducted even though the booking was not confirmed.

Payment successful and booking confirmed

The booking is generated and you receive a booking confirmation.

Payment debited but booking not confirmed

Cine Ring verifies the transaction with the payment provider. If the amount was received but no ticket was generated, the eligible amount is processed for reversal or refund.

Please don’t make a second booking straight away while the first transaction is still processing. Check your Cine Ring booking history or contact customer support first.

Duplicate payment

If you are charged more than once for the same booking because of a technical or payment-processing issue, Cine Ring will investigate. Where a duplicate payment is confirmed and no booking exists for the additional transaction, the eligible amount will be refunded or reversed.

Refund processing time

Once a refund has been approved and initiated, the time it takes to reach your account depends on the payment gateway, bank, card issuer or other payment provider. Cine Ring does not control the final processing time of your bank or payment provider.

Please keep your transaction reference or refund reference until the refund is received.

Refund method

Where a refund applies, it will generally be processed through the original payment method used for the booking:

  • Credit or debit card: back to the original card
  • UPI: back to the original UPI-linked account
  • Other methods: back through the original payment route

Cine Ring may request additional information where necessary to process or verify a refund.

Convenience and platform fees

Any convenience fee, platform fee, payment processing fee or other charge may be treated separately from the base ticket price. Whether these are refundable depends on the booking and cancellation terms. The charges and refund amount will be shown before you confirm a cancellation wherever technically possible.

Food and beverage orders

Food orders made through Cine Ring may have separate cancellation and refund conditions. An order that has already been prepared, dispatched or made ready for collection may not be eligible for cancellation or refund, except where applicable law or the cinema’s policy requires otherwise.

If a cinema cannot fulfil a confirmed food order, a refund or alternative resolution may be provided.

Incorrect booking by customer

Please check the following before completing payment:

  • Movie
  • Cinema
  • Date
  • Showtime
  • Screen
  • Seat numbers
  • Number of tickets
  • Contact information
  • Total amount

Tickets booked incorrectly can only be cancelled or changed if the booking allows it. Cine Ring cannot guarantee changes to confirmed bookings.

No-show

If you don’t attend the movie after purchasing a valid ticket, the booking may be treated as a no-show. No refund may be provided for a no-show unless the cinema or booking policy says otherwise.

Technical issues at the cinema

If a technical problem prevents you from accessing a confirmed show, contact the cinema’s customer service team or Cine Ring support immediately. The issue will be investigated based on the booking status and circumstances. Any refund or alternative arrangement will follow the cinema’s policy and applicable law.

Refund status

You can check the status of eligible cancellations or refunds in My Bookings, then Booking Details, then Refund Status.

Where this isn’t available, contact Cine Ring Customer Support with your booking ID, transaction ID, registered mobile number and payment reference.

Fraudulent or suspicious transactions

Cine Ring reserves the right to investigate transactions that appear fraudulent, unauthorized, abusive or inconsistent with normal booking activity. Refunds linked to such transactions may be subject to verification. Where required, Cine Ring may cooperate with payment providers, financial institutions, law-enforcement authorities or other competent authorities.

Offers and promotional tickets

Tickets bought with promotional offers, discounts, coupons or special pricing may have additional cancellation and refund conditions. Please review the offer terms before completing your booking.

Customer responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate booking information
  • Checking booking details before payment
  • Keeping your booking confirmation safe
  • Using the correct mobile number and email address
  • Following the cinema’s entry requirements
  • Reviewing cancellation conditions before booking

Changes to this policy

Cine Ring may update this policy from time to time. Any updated version will be published on the Platform with a revised “Last updated” date. The policy that applies to a booking will generally be the one communicated to you at the time of booking, subject to applicable law.
